Police in Detroit impounded a party bus that operated as a mobile strip club. The Detroit News reported the “Booty Lounge” tour bus parked near Ford Field when the Lions played the Bears on Monday Night Football. Officials said the bus did not have a valid state safety inspection and the bus operator did not have a commercial license.
Bus operator Joe Parsons said he has a lawyer investigating what permits the bus needs, but he said Detroit has no ordinance against “mobile entertainment clubs.”
Investigators have said they believed fans tailgating before a Lions home game earlier this year were allowed onboard the bus after forking over $10.
The Detroit News says the bus has been a fixture at the Lions tailgating scene since 2005.
So here’s a question for everyone: is there a market for “mobile entertainment clubs”? Could New Orleans support its own booty bus? I’ve heard Detroit isn’t the only city that has strip club buses outside/near NFL stadiums, and supposedly they do pretty well. I just don’t see it, even with a relatively cheap cover of $10.
