The Best Strip Clubs in New Orleans

Last updated: 5/25/12

We have made a couple of changes to the Editor’s Choice list since it was last updated. Deja Vu and Rick’s Cabaret were kicked off and Babe’s and Scores took their place.

The top five strip clubs in New Orleans as chosen by NOLA Strip Club Review’s Senior Editor:

5.) Scores New Orleans
416 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 525-0999
Scores website

Penthouse and Rick’s always draws the best girls. The Larry Flynt clubs usually get the rest, which generally leaves the other clubs with scraps and morsels. Scores is one of the few locals clubs that’s able to field a decent amount of talent. While this club isn’t as nice as Rick’s or Penthouse, your dollar will go further here than over there. The club is compact which means nearly every seat has good views of the stage. The stage seating gives you great views of the dancer and there’s plenty of interaction between dancers and customers.

4.) Babe’s Cabaret
433 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 552-2565
Babe’s Cabaret website

This club has really turned itself around. Formerly a shithole, the new management did a complete overhaul of the club. New carpeting throughout the entire club, new chairs, and renovated VIP rooms. The girls are getting progressively better as well. Babe’s even won the 2011 Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer award for “Best Small Club of the Year” for the Central Region of the United States.

I went on a Thursday night and there wasn’t one bad looking girl in the joint. They don’t have the stunners that Penthouse has yet, but I have a feeling they’ll get there. This club consistently draws a crowd, which is nice because it means you’re not being pestered by every girl in the place desperately looking for a dance. There’s plenty of stage seating, but not as much off the stage. Drink prices aren’t a bargain, but not terrible.

3.) Larry Flynt’s Hustler Barely Legal
423 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 571-6340
Barely Legal website

Larry Flynt’s Barely Legal (different than the Hustler Club) has better quality dancers than Deja Vu but still offers the opportunity to avoid spending too much. They offer free cover coupons fairly often and the club is usually pretty crowded. The private and semi-private rooms for lap dances are pretty standard for Bourbon, but aren’t very “private” so the dances are pretty tame. I’m not sure what goes on in the Champagne Rooms, but I don’t feel like spending the money to find out (and if you’re interested in that, there are better places).

2.) Visions Men’s Club
4000 Downman Road
New Orleans, LA 70126
(504) 240-0069
Visions Men’s Club website

Visions is a favorite among locals. It’s easy to get to, there’s plenty of free parking, and you will unquestionably spend less here than on Bourbon. Your dollar goes further. However, since the club allows anyone to dance, there are a plethora of hideous-looking dancers that can ruin the whole experience. There are a ton of girls on each shift, which is good and bad. Good because it means more variety, but bad because the girls have gotten super competitive for customers so they can be pushy at times, especially on weekend nights. Regardless, it’s amazing how this place is so consistently packed, even during the day shifts.

1.) Penthouse Club New Orleans
727 Iberville
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 524-4354
Penthouse Club website

If you’re looking for the best dancers in the city, you will find no better. Guaranteed. More girls get turned away from Penthouse than anywhere else, and dancers from around the country travel to this club. Expensive, but well worth it. The cover sucks ($11) but it’s only $1 before 8:00PM and occasionally they’ll have someone handing out free entry coupons on Bourbon. Weekends get VERY busy so it’s easy to take a seat and just watch beautiful girls dance without having to spend much. And you won’t get bothered much either.

Honorable Mentions:

Rick’s Cabaret
315 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 524-4222
Rick’s Cabaret website

I debated whether or not to include this one since it’s so overpriced, but Rick’s Cabaret has quality dancers and is beautiful inside. Plus it wins Gambit‘s “Best Gentlemen’s Club” award every year, so I feel obligated to include it. Lap dances where you can touch cost $60 per song, so unless you want to just sit back and watch some stage dances this isn’t the best place.

Déjà Vu Showgirls
226 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
(504) 525-5801
Deja Vu website

The girls at Deja Vu aren’t nearly as attractive as the girls at Penthouse, Rick’s, or even Temptations, but the cover is free on most week nights and sometimes on weekends. I’ve peeked in from time to time and found myself staying because there were a couple of gorgeous girls. Believe it or not, girls from Penthouse and Rick’s will go to clubs like Deja Vu because they’re the hottest girl in the place and they’ll get a lot of attention. So chances are good that you’ll at least find one girl you’ll like. If not, you can just sit at the bar and avoid spending too much while having a great view of the stage. Like all Flynt clubs, drinks are overpriced.

I am looking for a place that will have a good private room for my husband and myself 😉

    • No problem. What’s the main focus here? Privacy? Price? Luxuriousness? Mileage? And I assume you want a dancer in there, along with you and your husband. Ha!

Stay away from Stiletto’s, Little Darlings, and Lipstixx – as they’re kinda gross on the inside and probably not the best couples club. Visions isn’t a great couples club either, although the Party Rooms there are decently nice and newly renovated (and very spacious) and they’re less expensive than private rooms on Bourbon. Club Eden private rooms suck.

Penthouse is the nicest of all of the Bourbon Street clubs, but I’m not sure how much you’re going to have to spend. I’ve done full-hour private rooms, but I forget how much seating there was. The half-hour room has two couches facing each other, but they’re far apart and not that big, so that probably wouldn’t work. The full-hour room had one big chaise lounge-type chair, but I can’t remember any other seating in there. You could always do a suite (which are very nice), but you’re probably looking at $650-$700 for an hour of fun. You can take a virtual tour of the Penthouse Club upstairs on their website.

Rick’s Cabaret has a nice upstairs as well, but I generally stay away since it’s more expensive than Penthouse and not as nice. Champagne Rooms go for $350 half-hour and $700 full-hour, but I’m not sure how much extra they charge for two people in a Champagne Room. Most places charge extra for couples. Temptations has cool private rooms (same price as Rick’s) with plenty of room and seating for a couple (the trick will be finding a girl that you both like, since this place is very hit-or-miss in that category).

I personally wouldn’t recommend Hustler, Barely Legal, or Deja Vu since they’re all way more expensive than they’re worth. Deja Vu has the least-nice interior and probably costs the same as the other two. People love Hustler and Barely Legal for whatever reason. They’re okay, but nothing special.

Let me know what you’re thinking and I’ll ask around.

I know penthouse charged 12o plus 25 for me and my girlfriend. Is temptations the same price

      • $145 for how long? Did you get a private or semi-private? That’s not bad considering how overpriced Penthouse can be on some things.

Temptations doesn’t have as many options as Penthouse. You have the lap dance rooms in the courtyard that are $30-$40 per song (depending on the dancer and how busy the club is that night). I know Temptations does a three-song deal for $100. The lap dance rooms are nice but the get expensive if you’re looking to stay a while. Plus your mileage won’t be as good as the fully private rooms. The private rooms are upstairs and cost $350 for the half-hour (not sure what the extra fee for your girlfriend is going to be). Temptations is going to be a lot more lenient than Penthouse when it comes to what’s permitted in the private rooms. You close the door, turn down the lights, and go as far as the dancer allows you.

Hi! Above you say “I’m not sure what goes on in the Champagne Rooms, but I don’t feel like spending the money to find out (and if you’re interested in that, there are better places).” Such as…? 🙂

    • My recommendation for Bourbon Street clubs would be Temptations, Stiletto’s, and Scores Mansion. Stiletto’s has its VIP rooms in the courtyard behind the club, and staff members rarely pass by, if at all. You could get away with a lot in there. Temptations has the same setup for regular lap dances, but most of the dancers will reserve “extras” for the VIP rooms upstairs. There are no cameras in the upstairs VIP rooms you can’t see inside them from the hallway outside. The bouncers won’t bother you and the dancer can tell the waitress not to come in and interrupt to offer drinks. Scores also has upstairs VIP rooms with no cameras and no staff members that will bother you. As one dancer told me “we lock the door and for 30 minutes the rooms is ours.” Little Darlings will let a lot of shit fly as well.

Your best bet is probably Visions. The Party Rooms (similar to champagne rooms) are cheaper. There are cameras inside but the lights are dim and the dancers know how to avoid being seen on camera – and the staff doesn’t care. The door closes and you don’t have to worry about anyone interrupting you.

I am taking my pet to a strip club because she has never been to one. In Birmingham, the clubs seem to be only topless. Is this the case in NO as well? From what I have read on your reviews, The Penthouse Club seems to be the best choice for her first visit
