Strip Club Review: Penthouse Club New Orleans

Penthouse Club New Orleans

This is the crown jewel of NOLA strip clubs. The inside looks like a five-star restaurant (okay, that may be a slight exaggeration…but it’s still really nice). The girls are beautiful. There’s plenty of stage seating and seating away from the stage. There are plenty waitresses to bring you drinks, but none of those annoying shot girls (at least none of the times I’ve been there). It’s the greatest.

Unfortunately, it’s also a huge strain on your wallet. Drinks are absurdly expensive, the cover is steep (unless you get there before 8:00 PM), and you’ll have to tip big if you want to get these girls’ attention.

The Interior

Penthouse Club New OrleansHands down, the nicest looking strip club out there. Granite floors and countertops, carpeting that isn’t cheesy or decades old, and even one of those guys in the bathrooms that hands you a towel. The bar has a fairly nice selection as well.

The downside: you’re definitely paying for the decadent interior. Drinks are priced at a ridiculous markup. Oh, and the suites there are ASTRONOMICALLY expensive. Otherwise, getting a private dance isn’t that big of a rip off. Floor dances are $20 and usually pretty entertaining (they’re allowed to touch you, and you, them). Private dances start at $40, and escalate from there.

The Personnel

I’ve never met a single bad character at Penthouse. These girls are really friendly, don’t push private dances on you, and are still very polite even if you say no. These are 100% opposite the stripper stereotype. Many of them have jobs outside of dancing and thoughtful, well-rounded people. Oh yeah, and they’re far and away the hottest group in NOLA. Lots of clubs have a handful of attractive girls, but ALL of the Penthouse girls look good.

Depending on what you’re looking for, there is a downside. Most of the girls here have limits and they stick to them. They make plenty of money so they’re not going to go the extra mile to please a customer who’s looking for too much (namely something that’s illegal). Plus, the bouncers aren’t going to let it happen anyway. This is a no-extras club and everyone there supports that. That’s fine by me, but if you’re looking for something else, you probably won’t find it here.

The rest of the staff is pretty cool. The bartenders and wait staff are nice, and the bouncers and floor managers don’t give you any problems.

Penthouse Club New OrleansThe stage seating is set up nicely. You can see the girls well and they can interact with you without much hassle. This is a good place to hang out at the stage for a while. I prefer the secondary stage, as the main stage gets pretty crowded and isn’t as good for patron-stripper interaction.

The floor dances aren’t bad for $20. They’re allowed to touch you – unlike Rick’s Cabaret. The semi-dances, depending on the dancer, can be much better since it’s upstairs away from the main stages so it’s a little more personal. There’s also an option for a 20-minute dance for $125. It’s done in a different section of the upstairs area than the single song dances. You get what looks like a cubicle with a chair in it; it’s small and doesn’t have walls or a door obviously. It’s not really any more private than the single-song dance area either. The $250-$375 dances (30 minutes/full hour) are done in rooms that overlook the main floor. There’s no door, but they’re spacious and the bouncers usually won’t bother you in there. The VIP suites have doors that close; I’ve never done one because they’re a rip.

As this article was written over 2 years ago – I’m wondering if the “Half-Price Admission Coupon” is still valid? Thanks!

    • Yes, it should still be valid. Some months ago someone from Penthouse emailed me the coupon. I used to have a free admission coupon on this blog and the employee told me that coupon is no longer valid. He sent me the half priced admission coupon to post instead.

Great. Thank you for the reply. Seven of us are headed to New Orleans this weekend for a bachelor party. A few of the guys are on a tight budget, so I’m trying to be inventive as to how to show the groom a great time while not put a strain on the other guy’s wallets. Guided by your amazing blog, we’ll likely head to Penthouse or Larry Flynts. Thanks again.
